Wonderful Historical Picture Placement

This was taken at Nairobi National Museum. To go to the upper floor, you have to go up a curled staircase. They decided to hang dozens of interesting historical pictures, in the shape of a cylinder, so you can view these photos while going up the stairs.

Fort Jesus - Mombasa

The pictures were taken in, from and around Fort Jesus, in Mombasa, Kenya.

For those more curious, Fort Jesus has a very interesting historical value, and the locals seem to have a special affection for the Portuguese, since history tells them that the Portuguese built the fort to protect Mombasa from invaders.

Beef Portuguese Style in Nairobi

Lunch time at Wasini.
The Chef's new special dish, requested... and taught by the Portuguese:

Pan-fried beef on garlic and bay leaves, covered with a slice of ham and cheese, and... EGG ON A HORSE! ahahahah

Tasted much better then it looks, trust me.

Please bear with me...

Hey!

So this 365 Days of Photos is being hard to handle. Because of the stress I'm in with all this, tomorrow there will be no photo, since I'm going here:

To cool off a bit :P

We're going to spend the weekend at Mombasa and Diani Beach, so no internet access, no photo tomorrow. Hopefully I'll bring lots of great photos to share.

For a better idea of the places I'm gonna try to see, google images on Mombasa, Tiwi Beach and Diani Beach.

Be well!

Bakuba / Kuba Cloth

This is a tradicional African Bakuba cloth, also known as a Showa. Was hand woven by the Baluba tribe of the Bushoong Kingdom in Zaire.

It's a wonderful piece of African textile art which is woven from rafia palm leaves.

Voting Abroad

Apparently there's this new law that allows someone that is abroad to vote 10 to 12 days before the election day, as long as you can prove that it's because of work reasons .

Being so... I went to vote today for the election of the President of the Portuguese Republic at the Embassy of Portugal in Nairobi :)
