Daily Photo At...

Just a few days ago I came back to blogspot to see how the blogosphere was hanging on, and ended up browsing through the past posts.

Remembered the days when I tried my 365 project, how I was motivated and excited about it. How the World was different during those days.

So I decided to try it again. This time, I'd start it slow. One month of photos, the first month of Spring, April in Portugal seemed just right. But then I thought... What if I share this project with other people? If I miss a day, someone will most certainly have time for a shot and could submit it; and the daily journal would be complete.

Thus, "A Daily Photo At" was born!

The project was born from the will to practice photography more regularly. For it, I adopted recommendations that are normally used for the Gym:

  1. Set a realistic objective.
  2. Get someone to go with you. It's easier if you have someone cheer and pull for you.
  3. Go, even if it's just for a short exercise, it's better then not going at all.
"A Daily Photo At" is collaborative photography blog where we use monthly challenges as incentive, and learning and sharing as motivation.

We started on the 1st of April, slowly but surely, and curiously, most photos have been taken with mobile cameras. That means that it's working! It doesn't matter if you don't own the state of the art DSLR, we don't care. What we do care is that we're paying attention.

Visit  http://photoat.tumblr.com/ and let me know your thoughts. There you'll find FAQ's , Rules and the ongoing Challenge. Perhaps you'd even like to participate? If not, you can always follow the blog for a "daily digest" of images, information, and who knows... Inspiration?

Check it out,
G.

P.S.: Why Tumblr and not Blogspot? Well, mainly because of flexibility. The themes allow to almost disguise a blog as a website and people can easily submit posts even if they don't have an account.

The New Cosmos

Did you happen to catch the 21st century version of the Cosmos series?

Having not had access to the 80's version I was completely absorbed in the episode; watched it twice actually.

Since I was a kid that I've been fascinated with space, time, origin of all things and the future of all things. As I grew older my thoughts were molded to keep up with what the earthling World had to offer, and guess what... I became a consultant...

I keep thinking about how easy it is to have access to all kinds of information in this new age we live in, that could help us have a broader concept of life and its (true) meaning.

I envy those who are growing up having access to All You Can Hear music from the click of a button.
Anyway, its no excuse, but I find myself thinking of how I'd be different if I had watched the series back when I was growing up.

Thank you Carl Sagan.

Wouldn't you know...

It works.

Where do blogs go when they die?

I'd like to visit the place where blogs go to spend their eternity when they die. My list of links show that most of the blogs I (used to) follow have been numb for over 2 years.

Mine died 2 years ago when I started paying more attention to Google Plus. Yeah, yeah, nobody uses G+... Yada yada... That's probably why I follow 2000+ peeps there.

But ok, now I came to visit blogspot and I found this:

It makes sense for this to happen. So I say, let's give it a try and check the result on G+.

Since all digital data from my blog is ending up on G+, I reckon that if I want to vist the blogspot graveyard I just have to open my G+ profile... huh.

Plus'ya later.
